Programs

ULI Kansas City convenes across disciplines and sectors to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and inspire a better built environment in Kansas City and the region. Our programs reflect the diverse interests and expertise of our members — We offer everything from exclusive site tours, to deep dives into issues shaping the industry, to networking coffees and happy hours. Signature programs include Emerging Trends in Real Estate, ULI Kansas City On Site, and quarterly topical programs.

We welcome your ideas! If you have a program suggestion, an idea for a site tour, or would like to host an event in your office or space, please email the details to [email protected]. Your information will be submitted to the Programs Committee for possible follow-up/inclusion in our annual calendar of events.

ULI KC Programs Snapshot

  • Members got an exclusive tour of the new KCI Airport during the construction phase.

  • We had a great turnout for our tour of the new Olathe Public Library! Project partners from the Olathe Chamber of Commerce, Lane4, McCownGordon, and Multistudio shared the background details on this P3 project and led a larger discussion about suburban downtown development.

  • Coffee Connect at the Lamar Johnson Collaborative. These bi-monthly coffees for members and sponsors are a great way to connect with other members and find out what’s happening in our district council.

  • Members recently toured the Kirk Family YMCA in downtown KCMO, a stunning repurposing of the Lyric Opera Theatre.

  • Our tour of The Rochester on Blue Parkway, the first market-rate multifamily development east of Troost Avenue in decades, included a panel discussion with members of the project team from Community Builders of Kansas City, Hufft, and Straub Construction.

  • Our annual Emerging Trends in Real Estate event highlights key findings from the ULI/PWC flagship report and explores how local market sectors will respond.

  • ULI Kansas City hosted a forum on land use and development ahead of the KCMO City Council elections in June 2023. All of the at-large candidates were invited to participate.  Co-hosts included KCATA, Midtown KC Now, and Urban Neighborhood Initiative.

  • We toured the new Residences at Park, an adaptive reuse project in Midtown that was once Westport Middle School.

  • We were thrilled to welcome the Small Scale Developer’s Forum to Kansas City last October and sponsor three of our REDI students to attend the three-day conference.

  • Our tour of the Kansas City Art Institute highlighted recent additions and improvements to this beautiful campus in the heart of KCMO. Project partners from Helix, Hufft, Multistudio, and Newmark Zimmer led the discussion.

  • We had a great turnout for our Member-Sponsor Reception at Fire House KC! This annual event is a way for us to thank our members, sponsors, and volunteers for their support!
