The construction industry had quite a year in 2017. From supporting the aftermath of number of natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, wildfires), to seeing an unprecedented boost in employment in the construction sector, it was certainly an eventful 12 months and does not look to be slowing down anytime soon!
Our Construction Labor Outlook program will examine the workforce challenges we face in 2018 and beyond. With the JoCo Courthouse and the convention hotel project now underway, as well as the KCI project eminent, Kansas City’s metro development market is engaged in several of the largest development deals we have seen for many years.
This program will discuss how some local firms are mitigating these issues, amongst others: workforce and skilled labor shortage, inclusion of M/WBE firms, the use of emerging technologies, materials & techniques, and engaging with top talent in conjunction with analyzing the costs of attracting, training & overtime for those desired laborers.
