David Brain selected as ULI Kansas City Chair

Beginning July 1, 2016, David Brain will take the reigns as District Council Chair of ULI Kansas City for a two-year term. Brain, former CEO of EPR (EPR:NYSE), is an active ULI member and serves on the ULI KC Advisory Board. As a member of the Advisory Board, he serves as part of the strategic leadership for ULI Kansas City District Council. Most recently, Brain co-chaired ULI’s Technical Assistance Panel to study the possible decommissioning of the Northloop. Brain’s interest in community development continues as evidenced by his involvement in local projects such as Westport Commons through his development firm, Brown Cow Capital, LLC.
In his new role as District Council Chair, Brain will oversee the Kansas City District Council, the volunteer committees and interface with ULI National. He will succeed Lynn Carlton, Regional Director of Planning at HOK, as Chair. Carlton will continue her involvement at ULI in an advisory capacity to the Management Committee and Advisory Board. Under Carlton’s leadership the District Council has grown over 30% from 165 members in July 2014 to 220 current members. In addition she helped implement the Women’s Leadership Initiative, Mentorship Program and Technical Assistance Programs.
